A little bit about the site and it's creator.

About the site

Rising Eternity is a title I came up with while in high school, it'd be a bit hard for me to explain what it means exactly, but it's the name of a poem I had to write for my English lit class. I've been using the phrase, be it as a screen name, email, website title, or whathaveyou for at least the last 10 years.

Since when? Rising Eternity as a site has been online since 2001. It was first hosted on Angelfire, then in 2003 I switched to my own hosting, powered by the fine folk at dreamhost.

How? The site is built using Div layers and CSS code. Images and graphics are made in Photoshop or Illustrator, sliced and then put together in Adobe GoLive and the rest is hand editing as I go along. I'm not a coding expert, I work by trial and error as I go along for the most part, but looking up tutorials and how-tos on google has been a life saver.
The layout -» This layout features artwork created by me, using Illustrator and Photoshop. The artwork was first hand drawn on paper, scanned in, vectorized in Illustrator and then color and effects added in PS. It's titled "Rising Eternity" and you can view it at it's location in my Deviant Art gallery here.

The layout itself I've called eternité, which is just French for Eternity. I don't speak french, but I do speak Spanish, which is my first language and also a latin based language like French. I just wanted to call it something a little different than normal.

About Me, Yelitza

Name: Yelitza M. Vélez
Birthdate: April 23
Nickname: Yeli
Online Alias: Tirana Ki, tiranaki, naki, etc.
Location: Puerto Rico
Languages: Spanish and English
Education: Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Arts, 2006 cum laude.

I'm a 20 something year old freelance Graphic Artist/Illustrator from Puerto Rico. I also design and print screen-printed shirts and accessories. If I'm not doing something art related you will find me doing one of two things: moderating for Gaia Online (I'm a Omni Moderator there -a volunteer customer service position in which I help site members with account related issues) or playing/taking care of my niece and doing other random family/friend things. I'm a friendly person, though usually quiet and observant, but I love hanging out with my family and friends. I have an identical twin sister and she is an oil painter. You can find some of her work here.

Art wise, I am able to use the following materials and mediums: Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator, Wacom Graphire tablet, Oil-based Markers, Watercolors, and Pen and Ink.
I also enjoy doing crafts and working with my hands. I conider myself an craft artisan. Along with my twin sister we make jewelry pieces out of origami and Swarovski cystal beads as well decorations and other accessories. You can find our work at our Etsy site.
In addition to Etsy, I also place my art and create designs for products such as t-shirts, bags, mousepads, binders, shoes, ties, pins and many more! You can find these at my Zazzle.com store, and it's a great site to find custom unique gifts for your friends and loved ones. If you ever like my designs and want to see them on a specific product just let me know!

I think that's it more or less about me, if there's anything else you'd like to know, feel free to ask! I'll answer so long as it's not something incredibly personal or innapropriate.
